ProxiMR - Automated Street Light and Pump Controller
Problem
In a country like India, where the energy deficit is severe, one can not afford to waste any. Systems are archaic, street lights and water pumps are controlled manually every day. This leads to energy losses due to inefficiencies of manual operation. There is a potential for saving 15% of energy and 18% of water through automating the street lights and water pumps.
There is a need for a robust system for automating the street lights and pumps based on parameters such as day light availability, water level and scheduled ON/OFF.
Solution
PROXIMR Controller is an easy-to-use product which enables smart controlling and monitoring of variety of electrical equipment such as street lights and water pumps with variety of current range.
The device can be retrofit to any type of electrical load equipment. The plug and play feature allow quick integration and simplify, reduce installation time.
FORTUNE8 designed a robust enclosure which can take public and environmental abuse and still be able to protect the electrical inside.
Materials for enclosure were carefully chosen to withstand prolonged exposure to sun light and heat.
Device is engineered to IP56 to withstand heavy rains and dust storms.
Finally the device is designed to protect against tamper and theft by using the steel strip to fix.
Manufacturing
FORTUNE8 helped GND Solutions in manufacturing the PROXIMR by working with manufacturing partners. We owned the responsibility of visual and dimensional quality inspection of parts and assist in technical matters such as material selection, design refinement for injection moulding, mould corrections after T0 and T1 trials, defining injection parameters and establishing the assembly sequence.
